I started school studying Engineering. My parents kept saying "are they going to let you be the engineer on the train". And I kept telling them it was a different kind of engineer. This happened several times. Finally, I graduated and my first job was with, "you guessed it" Santa Fe Railroad Inc. I quit trying to explain after that.

I was an Intel analyst in the Army so whenever people asked what I do, I'd say the usual, I can't tell you or I'd have to kill you, or sometimes I'd say something like I sterilize lethal injection needles.

Been a social worker and now am a part time caretaker (janitor).

I always feel/have to explain I'm part time for my kids and that the job is OK. Not that I'm f*cking mental and it's all I can realistically stick at.

Mechanical design and production planner. Currently working remotely from Rhode Island for a company in Seattle. Work from home so at the moment not as much design and more planning.
