How terrible....

[DLMURL]http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/04/15/17764747-2-explosions-rock-finish-of-boston-marathon-widespread-injuries-reported?lite[/DLMURL]

Many injured, 3 unconfirmed deaths (we're hearing in Australia). Un-speakable horror, people reported to have lost limbs after 2 explosions 20 seconds apart.

Hope everyone is okay and thoughts to all those who are there and their family and friends.

I'm not in great shape. It took a little while to track down everyone up there. My eldest son works 2 blocks away, it's exactly the kind of thing he'd do, tool over to the finish line there. I got ahold off his brother first, while I was falling apart and remembering that PTSD can make you throw up, brother 1 called. He had been there at the finish line for awhile a few hours ago just to soak up the atmosphere like everyone else. I could have done without that news ( although I KNEW it ), it's just a very, very cool piece of Americana, one tradition in one of our MOST historic cities, on the day of a battle my ancestors fought in. Patriot's Day. The kids were all out and about, work or no, making the most of Boston on THIS day of all days. My daughter JUST chose a PA school over the offer from Northeastern, for grad school. I'm feeling safer, unrealistic, I know.

God Bless all of them, SO much. And please tell my son to go the h*ll home, instead of hanging around.I think he will, one of those useful types who will want to be useful. Who on earth knows what else the fruitloops have in store for them up there.

I know a couple of people who were running the marathon. Took me until this evening to confirm that they are both OK. One finished the race an hour before the blast, the other was about 1km from the finish.

Having friends who were there, and being a runner who takes part in big races - this hits very close to home for me.

I feel so, so sad for the victims and their families. And I feel awful for the people who will develop PTSD as a result of this. I hope that in time, those who need to will find their way here.
