Hello,

I am new on this site but I have been feeling really anxious work related. I was on the verge of quitting because of some work tension. I ended up having multiple panic attacks. I feel like nothing is getting better. I don't know what to do. I really feel all alone :(

You are not alone with regard to anxiety. Most everyone here has it to some degree. I have it and have had to learn grounding skills, but I also take meds.

Hope you come back and share what's going on and we will help if we can. One quick question, do you have a therapist?

Hello,

Thank you for replying to my post. I do have a therapist that I will be seeing tommorow. I ended up quitting yesterday because of work tensions and I honestly feel like a weight was lifted from my shoulders. I still need to find another job but at least I have an idea as to where I would to venture of to.

Can you elobarate more what happened at work?
Hello,

There was conflict between my coworkers and I was not feeling comfortable with it. One of the coworkers then confronted me and I just had enough. I did not want to come to work scared or anxious anymore. I ended up quitting my job yesterday which may be the best thing I have done.

Knowing when to step away is a good thing. Glad you feel better having made that decision. Good luck with your Therapist.

Thank you so much for your post. I am happy to have walked away. I feel like I was clinging onto something that was not good for me and now I can find something better.

And discover what you were holding on to with the job you quit. What changed for you that it wasn't ok to be there any longer!! A beautiful insight that you followed your gut. Whether you knew why or not. sometimes we don't know 'why' until after the fact. You got this!!

Thank you so much for your response. I was discussing to my therapist about your post. Holding the job for me was a sort of odd comfort. The negativity and toxicity reminded me of my old life. I feel like that is why I clinged onto it so much. But once I saw someone I cared about getting hurt, that made it not okay. My therapist was very happy I let go of a toxic job. She was advising me for a while to do it but better late than never.

It's not over until it's over. The beautiful thing is, you took care of you and got out of an environment that may have felt 'normal' but at the same time, it wasn't ok any longer. That is awesome progress to take the steps to move away from what used to be normal and search for a new normal. Good for you!!

Sorry I used the word 'normal' so many times. Like we even know what that is most of the time. But we are searching. That is what matters!!

Thank you @ladee for your post. Please don't apologize, I sometimes find myself overusing normal and wondering what it really is. I was talking to my therapist about feeling guilt and not strong enough to stay in the job. My therapist assured me that it was not healthy to stay and make myself suffer.
