Favorite Thing To Do In Summer?

Rent a camp on a lake and sit on the front (screened in) porch and just relax with some iced tea with lemon and enjoy the peacefulness and quiet. (Don't choose a touristy lake, but one off the beaten path). My parents did this for years. It was usually Lake Camplaine which borders on New York State, Vermont and Canada at its northern tip. We would also take a day to drive around the lake sometimes, which is 125 miles long and about 5 miles wide. We would be able to drive around the whole lake in a day if we left pretty early in the day. We liked to stop at a country store in Vermont and buy some home made sharp cheese, choose a restaurant somewhere along the way and then enjoy a quiet evening back at the camp just relaxing on the porch.

Oh yes, the canoe can't be left out of this picture either! It had a little motor on it and I would sit on the floor in the center while they sat on the seats on each end of it. We would take a trip across the lake in it and then back again. Mom was on the front, Dad steering in the back.

They have passed away now and I miss them dearly, as well as our many summers spent on this lake. Thanks for helping me to bring up some really happy memories!

I spend as much time as possible outside in the summer time, even to the point of finding jobs that need doing in the garden, or even sometimes. I even create them, so that I remain out in the sun.

Last year I used 43 Ltrs of wood stain to paint all the fences, front and back of the house. This year. I've been repairing the broken fences, that the winter storms blew down, or broke the fence posts.

I am waiting for our Senior Center's summer field trips. We usually go to a town not far from here and tour Thrift Stores and a department store called ROSES. I love shopping at places that don't cost much. I'm not talking about Walmart, but little out of the way places that you find just by a stroke of luck and a prayer.

I have found some great buys at Thrift Stores. Little things, big things, things that would cost a fortune were you to buy them new, beautiful things, unique things....

My husband and I used to take our motor home to faraway places and we brought the dogs with us. Very relaxing, I do not do camping. Going to the beach with my husband and roller bladding and gardening and landscaping our yard. Sitting on the front porch of our cabin and sipping wine. Going into the spa we had with a walkman listening to music, and sipping wine.

Oh yeah, amusement parks are awesome!

But the beach is where it's at <3

Good ol' kneeling in front of the one single fan I have access to, which is in the laboratory... And slowly unrolling 3d printer filament.

A good song for the summer:
