Get as much support as possible, know that you are as safe as can be, and please try and be happy as it is the best revenge. If he ever sees you strong, with many friends, with many who admire you, he may find it very hard to get to you. Hopefully less determined, but I do not know his character. Befriending the Police would be a really good idea right now if that is possible.

I am in a similar situation. In fact the first parole hearing is 1/12 and I know that he isnt getting out but its that possibilty that hangs over my head right now. I have looked into various programs and I have found that they have made me feel more secure. See what your local courts/government have to offer. I am in a confidential address/mail program and because I am in that I can change my name confidentially. Once I completed those I felt much more secured. You can only do so much until you have to sit down and realize that you have done all you can do. Life is to be lived right now. You are free right now. There is a book that I read that helped me look at things differently when I apply for things or sign up for things...."How to be Invisible". Take a look at it. Also, part of my recovery was taking gun safety classes to help me feel better about defending myself. Once I am comfortable with that I am going to get a concealed weapons license. If your in the UK then that wouldnt work for you. I also found jobs in law enforcement dispatching which conceals my address from someone who has basic access. It will just say the department. So there are ways to protect your location and identity...it just takes a lot of research.
