UPDATE: Arthur has gone back to being an absolute dream!

All we've done is leave him outside a little more, get him back into his pre-maternity leave schedule (more time in his crate), and get him another treat puzzle ball.

His skin infection is gone and his ear infection is well on the road to repair. He's not going in the kitchen any more even though we haven't moved the cat food.

We're still going to look into training sessions for his pulling habits when walking him, and a dishwasher, but that's had to go on the backburner for the moment.

My meds are beginning to kick in properly - my god it feels like its taking forever. I've been having more sessions with my T as well.

Ultimately though, my biggest happiness came from my husband arranging for my mum to babysit the baby and the dog and he took me out for dinner. He had written a lovely letter telling me how I am an amazing mum and that he's proud of me (which made me cry in the restaurant), and had arranged my favourite dessert.

Glad to hear it's improved.
I was reminded of something my mother told me years ago. When I was a newborn, my parents had an old English sheepdog. They had to rehome him after he developed the rather unfortunate behaviour of wanting to sit on me.
Apparently a newborn makes a comfortable heated throw pillow for a 100+ lbs dog. Lol!

Thanks for the update, hope it continues to go well. I think every kid should have a dog growing up.

Just another update real quick

We've found the cause and a solution to Arthur's chronic ear infection! He has a grass/environmental allergy which flares up over Spring/Summer and starts to die down over Autumn/Winter. I suspect it is a pine tree allergy. He's now getting a monthly injection to help fight it (essentially an antihistamine).

Since finding a solution, he's been much much more relaxed and happy. We've been taking him out more again, and although he is still pulling at the lead and doesn't pay attention 100% of the time, he is getting better. Took him to a dog trainer/breeder for his breed and she said that he is a prime example of his breed. So that's a good and bad thing all at once.

Have been coping much better with my mental health. Still struggle some times, but it's less about Arthur and more about the actual issues.
