Hello all !. I believe that I have suffered from PTSD possibly 3 times in my life.
Once as a child after sexual molestation. the second after being put in a no escape from stress
situation by my employers 1990. four years to recover. and the third in 2004 after being repeated
verbally attacked and targeted by someone with jealous Narcissistic attacks.
At this point I was diagnosed with Bipolar 2 and my notes on being the victim of repeated Narcissistic
attacks were completely ignored by my psychiatrist. I have been in a deep depression for the last ten years. the depression was finally bought to an end by myself taking the Natural anti depressant
SAM-e 400mg for ten days. My problems run deeper than my basic description above but I thought it a good idea to give you an outline.

My question today is does anyone know of a website which states PTSD as being a gift.
The only clues I have are that it is in multi colour and the womans name who runs it contains the name Lucia.

Can anyone help me ?

Thanks fingers21

Welcome to the forums!

There is a PTSD site and non-profit organization called "A Gift From Within." You can google the name and find lots of info on the organization and websites they have. I'm not sure if that's the group you are thinking of. I'm not very familiar with them, but when you mentioned PTSD and gift, they came to mind. They don't hold the position that PTSD is a gift. They rather object to the word "disorder" being in the diagnostic title of PTSD, and believe that PTSD should be renamed to post traumatic stress injury.

Hello!

I sort of understand where you are coming from. Kinda like turning a negative into a positive, or iron into gold? Learning and growing from such harsh situations, and being able to manifest something greater out of a negative situation?

Or do you mean the mindset of PTSD or utilizing the symptoms of PTSD in a positive light? All of the above is possible, but it takes much emotional and mental work. There is no easy path to such, and will probably take over a decade or two of daily and diligent mental/emotional work. Tapping into your inner light/self is hard work for anyone, not just those with PTSD. And turning the situations that have cause you PTSD as well as your symptoms into a usable gift is even harder.

It is very possible for PTSD to be considered a gift, but you must do the hard work to find it. Please don't allow the hard work required stop you or scare you from pursuing such. Such a gift is rare, and the rarity demands many tests of character.

I wish you the best of luck, and hope you find what you seek.
