So funny. I had to resubmit FMLA because at my agency it's an annual renewal thing. I took the paperwork T completed last year and scanned it and erased the word weekly and she wrote in monthly as far as the frequency of my sessions (I see her twice monthly now instead of twice weekly - finances!!). Anyway, same paperwork except for a new date and two words changed. The request was denied because of a checkmark. It was the same as last year when it was approved in lightning fast time. Too funny. My manager said if my symptoms flare up, we'll simply have her change that checkbox and resubmit. I'm good with that.

I'm sorry, I may be daft, but you actually have to sign FMLA paperwork to go to therapy? That would seem to smack of a HIPAA violation to me. Do you have to fill out similar paperwork to go to a regular doctor's appointment? Sorry, just curious. VB

I have fmla protection because I take leave without pay during bad times. LWOP is a big no no in my agency and is reported to mt manager's manager's manager. By having approved fmla, no one knows about the LWOP but me and my manager. FILA also gives me protections against bad performace reviews and losing my job. And sets up a basis for disability. And most importantly allows me to adjust my work schedule and place of duty without formal approval. Also, no questions or required "notes" for appointments.

My therapist must fill out pages of paperwork that is then reviewed and approved/denied. So we submitted the same paperwork as last year with just the frequency of the sessions changed. FMLA was denied because of a check box that was checked last year when my request had been approved (annual renewal).

So no. I go to therapy on my own dime and own time. FMLA just gives me the protection I won't lose my job so easily if things get bad.

Thanks @CrowFeather! I know FMLA, but in that post, I was wondering about protecting against bad profomance reviews. I have FMLA for anxiety (extra breaks), but are you meaning like attendence?

Im only asking as Im walking the boarder of having a write up & being fired for conduct and its due to anxiety but the law reads "so as long as you can do your job" (or some legal term as such), so was just wondering about that.

In my agency fmla allows my manager only to evaluate me on the work I do during clocked hours.....not for the missed 10 hours I'm not there each pay period. So not sure that helps you.

It does @CrowFeather! Thanks!

My FMLA, when approved, they gave me an extra hour a month unasked and unused, for an office visit but i go once a week before work.

So you just have office visits and I have extra breaks, all the same.
