Even people without PTSD are often so isolated these days; People lose connections over the years, moving states away, etc.; this techie world has us "on-call" constantly. Often PTSDers find isolation even more so pervasive. Estranged by family members or self-exiled from family members in the urge to protect ourselves and find healthier environments.
When I lived in a bigger and more informed city, I went to group therapy. It was taxing at times, therapy in time-slots, but it was still useful. Moving to a much smaller community with few resources, group therapy isn't an option where I live now. This forum gives me community, a wise and honest community, and we can all pop-in and pop-out as our day demands or as our symptoms demand. No need to adhere to time-slot therapy.
I am incredibly grateful to this place. It's a huge porch with porch-swings enough for all of us. So much thanks.
