I'm with Ronin on this. Abuse by a shrink/counselor/psychotherapist or anyone in the psychological arena generally, is much different than abuse by law enforcement. I have had both, and while it's horrible no matter what, it is still different.
Compare it to burns. A second degree sunburn is serious, but is much different than either a second degree chemical burn or a second degree steam burn. To the uneducated or inexperienced, a second degree burn is still "just" a second degree burn. Yet while they are the same they are still quite different and the damage is much different and must be handled differently.
