For Those Without Family, How Do You Spend Christmas?

I completely understand and feel your delimma... Having a solid relationship with God will help... You do not have to attend church for this... Develope your relationship at home... Understand that In the spiritual realm biological family is not your real family anyway...

It is not going to be much of a Christmas for me this year. My family is coming over on Wednesday for a visit and I am going to be celebrating Christmas alone this year for the first time. Thanksgiving was hard as well.

So I am going to have a pajama day and munch on Christmas treats and watch Christmas movies all day and will be so glad once it is all over.

I am a widow and my good friends will be with their families so I will call them and wish them well. I have one sister I will call and that is my family of origin and this holiday will be so hard for her this year as her only living daughter died in October.

Kind of depressing thinking about being alone but I have to learn to adjust and move on with my life. Not up to decorating this year.

Movies. I will see at least two on xmas day. On the 24th I usually go to bed early (used to get drunk but that coping tool is gone). This year I'm eating out with a 96 yr old great uncle and his daughter. On the 23rd um going to a dbsa meeting.

I did not get any invitations for Christmas this year, so I guess it is going to be a quiet Christmas for me. I have no idea what I will eat, but I got a ham, so maybe I can have some of that. I hate to cook a whole ham for myself though! I will end up eating it for days....

This year is going to be a little different. With rain forecasted it'll be too wet to do my traditional Christmas Day ride. I can't do a movie theater.
No friends. No family. No plans. Not sure what I'll do now.

Christmas eve, late dinner with friends who are kind of "family of choice". (I hear it's Chinese take out because everyone has to work that day & no one has time to cook.) Christmas Day, quiet day at home, just me & the dogs.

Running, cycling and surfing.
I won't be able to do those activities on Christmas Day.

It's ok. It doesn't matter. It's just another day.
