How Much Time Do You Spend Thinking About Your Trauma?

Actually, that is the very center of a PTSD sufferer, the trauma that does not let go of your brain
Was your trauma later in life? I wonder if that has something to do with it. Thinking about the trauma, or maybe we could call it ruminating, is a different phenomenon from reacting based on a traumatized state. I feel I'm not being very clear about this. I know what I mean but it seems to be getting lost somewhere between thought and word!

Am I odd that way, or does she just think that because she doesn't have similar issues?

She thinks very similar to the way my dad thinks, if you dont think about it then you can move on past it and thats just not true.

Ive been thinking about this questions because like you said, im thinking more of today's effects but I also rumminate and sit thinking, rumminatung, trying to figure things out.

I think its a bit different as I was raised in a cult thus everything I know to be true is a lie and so its a bit more of thinking and trying to figure stuff out. Whats true and whats not. What was bad and what was good. Etc.

So I think that makes me sort of think about it more than most.

But im sure thats what the girl meant.
