Hi everyone,
I'm Meridian. I actually found this forum just now while looking up tips on calming down after a panic attack. Needless to say, I'm not feeling too great now, but I'm glad to have found this site.
I'm a 21 year old female student who was diagnosed a little more than a year ago with PTSD, though I think c-PTSD may describe my experiences a little more accurately. I grew up around a very violent, hateful person who I loved dearly but who increasingly directed their violent actions towards me as we grew older.
I think this forum may be useful to me since right now the only people who know about my diagnosis are my therapist and my mom -- and my therapist doesn't have any slots open for me this semester and my mom doesn't like to talk about things related to my trauma. I hope this can be a chance for me to share my own experiences, learn about others, and find new ways to live a happier, more well-adjusted life.
It's a pleasure to meet all of you :)
