I can't wait until today is over and people stop playing with fireworks in the area.

I had the dumb****s in my complex with the fireworks Thursday and last night. It makes me deel better just to hope they blow their hands off. Fitting punishment for the stupid and inconsiderate.

i last night was jumping and anexity the shooting of fireworks. went one for many hours. i could hear urbandale.clive,and west desmoines firworks. i didn't sleep well last night again i was back in nam. it happens ever fourth of july since nam. i do the best to prepare myself that it is going to happen it sounds like gunfire. today i have ibs because of all the stress. ibs is made worse by stress. i know other people have problems and it was good discussing it in my ptsd group thursday and now that all the vets who have ptsd have the same reaction. fireworks are pretty if they only didn't make so much noise.

they didn't stop until after 1 am and it took me over an hour to calm down enough to go to sleep. grrrr......

Fireworks are not OK

They do sound like gunshots if they have the good ones. Other than that we have done more than our share of illegal fireworks so I dont' care....let them party it up, it is our rights in action. But yes they do sound like gunshots. If they have the good ones.

For me, it is the sensory overload. Either the booms, or the light show, are enough to totally overload my brain by themselves. Together? No way, baby. I don't stand a chance.

At least I know what it is -- that it's the noise, and the light. So, all events that have fireworks have been crossed off the old list.

I spent the 4th tucked away at home, windows closed, blinds pulled and lights off, watched the NASCAR race on TV and went to sleep.

Ugh, my neighbor kids are still setting them off. At least I expected them on the 4th--now they catch me totally off-guard. Yuck!
