Hahahahahahaha! I actually tried to write something coherant, stared at it for ten minutes, deleted it, and decided well, more thank you's will have to do- although Gosh- hysterical with the head getting screwed on!!! It was worth the ouches from laughing- oh my!!!! Doc said it'd be a bit before I'd be feeling up to moving around and coherant thought ( he was assuming I'd had some previously ) but of course one doesn't actually believe any of that, much less being laid up for more than 20 minutes. :) I'll settle maybe for meeting him in the middle- but promise very much not to begin nonsensical rambling here. At least am aware enough to know there's not an awful lot going on 'up there' at the moment. :)

Well I can hear the buzzing and cogs turning from here Annie, so there must be something going on. :D

Love the Avatar too. Is it a a Celtic Tree. :)

And with all that metal, just think of the fun you can have at airport security;)
Nothing as bad a screws but time spent flat on my back in a neck brace. Hope you are coping OK. The support I've read is amazing. I know it makes a huge difference just knowing people are thinking of you.
Speedy recovery
Love
KP

You say you are aware enough to know there is not much going on "up there" at the moment, yet clearly you mean on here at the moment, so that's a worry.

Then seeing what Lovinbiker has written about his exhaust pipe clearly it isn't your head that has been screwed on but your arse! I have heard of this before and it was a warning not to fiddle about with the bellybutton. OMG I hope you can hold it all in.

I haven't been on the forum much lately Anni, so missed this thread. Glad to see that you are up for at least posting a little bit ........and that it is coherent!!! May you have a quick recovery Anni....you are one of the sweetest people here on the forum!

Yes. it's the Celtic Tree of Life- the next time that 'What does your Avatar Mean' thread pops up, I'll have a few words on that one. :)

I was lurking this evening and hee- no, of course I meant not much going on 'up there' in this medicated head, but enough so that when the whole exhaust pipe/belly button/arse train of thought penetrated the fog I laughed for 20 minutes. I THINK that's a different surgery but did have a 200 pound hemaroid removed some years ago, in a divorce procedure, if that counts?

((((Anni)))) Hope you feel better soon. I had a two level cervical fusion 5 years ago the recovery is slow but in 6 months to a year you will feel really good. Fortunately for me I have no neck pain anymore and hope you have the same results. It does suck for the first month I couldn't dress myself (lift arms) and getting up from a lying down position really is not fun. I hope you have a quick recovery and am thinking of you.

I always have to almost make myself come read these- not out of iewww- it's because it's always so KIND I genuinely don't know how to process them. Typical here but you never get used to it, do you? It did just occur to me the other day when the 'Time to Leave' article came backup there ( thanks, btw, whomever was responsible because freakishly gory knife-chick was beginning to give me the willies ) that if one can have someone say something to nice to you without you looking over your shoulder to see who the hell they might be speaking to, it's a sign you're some better. I'm still looking and then absolutely convinced it still would not be me-mistaken identity or a practicle jokester at work possibly.

These fresh replies rather blew me away for a few important reasons. That's not as confusing as you'd think but it's not something I'll get into without boring anyone polite enough to stop in and read this so will shush.

I have to look and see which levels were fused- hee- as with all things technical I got it wrong the other day when telling someone something about it. Number 5 was taken out, replaced w articficial something, then fusion from the one above to the one below, a plate and screws. Quite honestly, you'd think I'd have found more about it but couldn't-the whole thing has been tied up with 'stuff'- medical, hospitals, surgeons- and feel silly saying this but just could not bring myself to focus beyond getting it over wth. I trust my husband so hugely and unfairly left an awful lot to him. I think they thought I was a really, really good patient. :) Hee- I was quiet, compliant as hell and very very very cooperative, especially after the initial sedation. Anyway- it's only luck which enabled me to avoid a good clear picture of this surgery- lucky my husband understands so MUCH and just sort of takes it from there. The 13th is when we go to find out if the fusion has begun, meanwhile am trying to wean off the dam pain meds before getting into trouble with those stupid things again. Anyway- if eyes haven't glazed over thus far- much, much thanks.
