Going Into Hospital For A Gastroscopy

Small gall stone Amethist but the worst pain is under my ribs on my left side and in my stomach and bowel. This could be anything from nothing to and an ulcer, H Pylori bacteria, ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis, pancreatitis or cncer.

It is just one of those things that can be something or nothing. Something is causing the pain and the anaemia but lets hope it is nothing or something simple.

Cath, I have Ulcerative Colitis and whilst at times not pleasant, once they knew what I had, it was treated and for the most part now is under control.

Prior to diagnosis, my GP did a blood test to look for cancer markers and that was clear. I was also told on the day of my sigmoidoscopy that apart from polops which they did biopeys it looked like UC and treatment began immediately.

It is worrying as my mind was thinking the worst which I think is human nature. The important thing is that you are having the right tests.

Plan something nice for next week so you have something to look forward to. Allow yourself time to recover your balance first.

I am with you in spirit. I will be praying continually for you and yours. I will be with you on Friday when you go through your prodedure. Glad that they are moving forwards and finding things to take care of to make you feel better. You are a treasure. You inspire me and teach me how to have a gracious and kind attitude.

I'm starving! So hungry! All I can have today is clear fluids so my tummy is rumbling and I'm trying not to think of food. I'm drinking peppermint tea and sucking on boiled sweets and letting them slowly dissolve.

I have to start the yucky diarrhoea inducing drink (a full litre) at 5pm so watch this space... Vesuvius is about to erupt! Second litre will be at 8pm. :arghh;

I've been thinking of you. Fingers crossed it isn't as bad as Pompii :poop: (Useless fact, Versuvius destroyed Pompii on my birthday - ok, a few years before I was born :cool:)

I kept sucking a boiled sweet after every mouthful. I sat in bed now just waiting, waiting, waiting.....

I held my nose and chugged it down. The brand they gave me was "Go Litely". A complete misnomer (sp?) --- it should have been "Go Explosively". :wideeyed:

I'm thinking of you CC, my Mum recently had a colonoscopy, and had to endure the diarrhoea inducing drinks. Her descriptions were non too pretty, so I wish you well. The :poop:'s will be :poop:, but at least you will find out what's troubling you.
