General Good Stress Caused Hubby To Crash.

I think anyone can get burnt out with one-too-many-meltdowns of others.
Especially if you're trying to remain positive, yourself.

I imagine the 'Bigger picture' involves shaking it off and trying to resume making the best of it, even if things do not or cannot go as planned or preferred (as opposed to 'wake me up when it's over').

I suppose, too, that what also explains (how) that occurs is that after 'x' number of meltdowns- the person may recover but the other person is sort of 'worn out'- they don't experience a 'release' or 'relief', and then need a recovery period that doesn't exist, by then.

So yes, I think it's critical (for everyone) to try to learn how to manage themselves. But, you can't control anyone else, so to some degree you either let it pass, or suffer the consequences, or limit exposure.

But it takes a lot (too much) out of everyone.

I understood that. I think a lot of people without ptsd feel similar. I know I can get stressed out even if good things happen.

The biggest difference with ptsd is, there is less wiggle-room for (any) stress- see the ptsd cup explanation, and it takes longer to reach an equilibrium (for the stress to subside).
