Granddaughter Is 5 Tomorrow

My beautiful granddaughter is 5 years old tomorrow. Though she acts and talks like she is 97 at times with all the answers for any and everything LOL.

I am going to see her in the morning with my youngest daughter. Hopefully hubby will be coming along too, as I have said we can go by taxi if he decides he can go with us. It's just the getting there that is the issue, once we arrive he will be fine and he knows this. So fingers crossed, that he does go with us.

Bless her, she rang us a few days ago and asked to speak to granddad, and told him she would like to see him. As it is Fathes day too, this may just be the encouragement he needs for this.

I may even get an up to date photo taken of myself while we are there. :wink:

I went to see my granddaughter as planned, though hubby told me 10 minutes before my youngest daughter arrived that he could not go. To say I was disappointed and upset is an understatement, but I kept my true feeling,s about this under control, as I did not want to spoil the day for anyone else.

She had a wonderful time which made up for my own disappointment. She is such a sweetie, and her young brother will be a heart breaker when he is older, with the cheeky look in eyes.

We decided to go shopping after our visit, grandchildren and a bit of retail therapy did me the world of good. I bought loads of metal cookie cutters that were on sale, they cost me half of what the should have done, so I bought twice as many. Farm and zoo animal shapes, cars and other transport shapes, little animal cutters, plus a tin with small measuring spoons included to keep them all in.

I am seeing them both again next weekend, I am taking Harry out for the day on Saturday to see some Mearcats. Kayleigh is staying the night after she has been to a party, mum will take Harry home and he will do something with his dad on Sunday. I have yet to decide what to do on Sunday with Kayleigh, but it will be fun what ever it is.

Use your new cookie cutters, of course! I don't know about your granddaughter, but my daughter (who is 5½) LOVES baking with my parents. Some of her best times are making cookies or cupcakes with her Nana and Pépé.

Glad you had a wonderful time yet I am disappointed that hubby didn't go. Thought it would be a big step for him to go as planned. But you, of course, did the right thing by not altering your plans to go!
