Spock I am understanding that now. It is just very hard for me, being such a logical thinker, to try to rationalize behavior that I know is illogical. I guess, like most people, something inside me just wants to be able to flip a switch that makes everything OK.
Holden, that sounds like a good idea. lol I am not sure it would convey my message, but I'll look and see if they have any for sale on the net.

Just a thought. If you put up a sign that says: "Beware Combat Vet" and you ever hurt anyone...
Over here that'd be considered intent.
Don't know about your laws but something to look into maybe.

Never thought of that dutchie that is a good point. Maybe no sign at all is best. I have seen the signs though that says combat vet please be courteous with fireworks when it was around the 4th of July maybe having one of those up all year long might be a good hint about being a combat vet without having to wonder about if it shows intent or not. Probably would be a great question to ask a lawyer if you can find one that will answer a question without making you pay them.

I don't think I would want to advertise at all that I was a vet period.

There's something to be said about the element of surprise.

You guys are right. A sign is a bad idea. lol
I just had the best idea ever though. I will look into buying a gate. My yard won't be fenced, but at least they can't get into my driveway. I already have these brick pillars on each side, shouldn't be any trouble hooking a fence up to them. Brilliant! I have no idea why I didn't think of this before.

Im with you on that one Brother. Although sometimes it can work to our advantage. I got arrested for DUI, the cop knew me and knew i was a combat vet.. He was also, so for, i guess either out of respect for me, or concern for the jail staff, he wrote "combat vet" at the top of the intake report. Whatever the motivation was, the intake officer saw this and asked me if I ever felt like hurting myself or others, I replied, every f*cking day sir..lol..instant segregation. I didnt have to be in gp, didnt have to deal with the other morons in there. So it can work out for the best sometimes. Most of the time i prefer to be under the radar. "Break glass only in case of war".

As former NRA weapons instructor I would teach the watch which sign you put up. DO NOT use; This place is insured by Smith & Wesson, Trespassers Will Be Shot and in a few cases even putting up a Beware Of Dog has come back bit the home owner in the ass......

dutchie has it nailed.....a prosecutor can or may turn your sign against you. You can take that to the bank.....

The only signs I would use is; No Trespassing & Private Property and Stay Out..... In Kent WA the City Police can come on your Property if you put up No Trespassing signs if they see something that does not look right...This is real good at night, works in the day as well.....
