But that is GREAT news.
No cyst. No kidney stone. Whooppeee!!!

Ok so you had a dreadful experience to get there, but at least now you know. Hope they treated the pain anyway, and you now have 2 less things to worry about.

Good point! Now I have to have a colonoscopy -- YUCK!

No, they didn't treat the pain and acted like I was on some drug-seeking mission which really pissed me off BIG TIME. The e.r. doc was such a jack-ass to me!!!! Not happy at all Just glad it's over time to move on!!!

Just glad it's over time to move on!!!
Good. Positive thinking!
I've never had a 'scope so cannot comment on that. However millions of others have - I am sure there are some on here who will be able to reassure you:hug:

As for being on a 'drug-seeking mission' - well, their problem! You were a patient in pain. Of course you were hoping for something to help. Is that not what an ER is for?

Well done! Glad to hear your results came back good! Good for you for taking them, at least now you have something off your mind!

I have an appointment next week for a pap exam. I'm already anxious about it.

I'm a little worried too because when I called to schedule it, I was shocked to find out I haven't had one since 2008. I 'thought' I was getting it done yearly. Time slips away so fast sometimes.

I'm planning to keep my eyes open and chit chat through the whole thing to keep myself distracted and not let my mind start wandering and thinking about the past.

I hate that such a simple procedure can cause so much anxiety.

Wish me luck....

I DO wish you luck.
I had my first smear this summer after neglecting it for years. I found making the appointment FAR more stressful than the test itself.

I think chatting through it is a good plan. It is surprising how quickly it is all over, when you are speaking about anything else - even the weather will do it!

Really Good Luck. You can do this!

You seem to have a good plan, so try not to worry until then. I know how stressful it is, but as Lucy said, it's over quick. When I had mine I didn't even realize it happen until afterwards.

Good luck JB.

Well done for making the appointment. (I'm still avoiding this like the plague! - no lectures, please )

(p.s. I LOVE your new avatar :D)

I have to get a mammogram too, but that doesn't make me anxious at all.

But the other exam, it sure feels humiliating and violating, doesn't it? I mean, first you're told to undress, then you're told to lie down and spread your legs and put them in stirrups, and then a person gets face level with your cooch and says they're going to 'examine' you.

.......It's probably a hard/scary thing even for those that haven't been sexually abused. For us though, it can be a little more than scary.

*glad you like my avatar CB, I do too.*
