My Traditional Artistic skills used to be so good when young and best form of art for me is pixel art because pixel by pixel. But I wish I had that a talent I loss and was afraid to approach again and now that I got back into drawing in a sketch book makes me depressed..... because of my hand tremors younger me could make more beautiful work and all I can do is sketches and good pixel art.

So wondering what is best medicine or method of chilling my hands out from shaking?

P.S.
Also wondering if one has scars, its not crazy to remove them anyway possible cause don't they show a timeline of pain you wanna get away from. And if others have done scar removal, what method did you use?

Hey you!

I am an artist too. I have never experienced tremors so bad from PTSD (only slight during adrenaline dumps) but I feel for you. I personally lost my ability to work for over a year before my diagnosis. I just hated myself a lot.

First things first - Have you seen an MD about the tremors? There may be something more serious being masked by the symptoms of PTSD. Seriously see a doctor if you can.

Second thing - If you can't calm it down, you should live with it and incorporate it into your work. I heard a story the past weekend about an artist who couldn't draw a straight line - it was always shaky. He kept asking doctors how to fix it so he could make beautiful straight lines. The doctor said 'embrace the squiggle'. Embrace what you've got and work with what you have.

Ventator@ Have seen a couple doctors for the tremors but there more focused on my other bodily problems and the recent doctor gave me some meds that worked to keep hands from shaking but the side effects of drug made it feel like bricks were tied to my eyes without being tired or sleepy. Which made artwork harder due to mostly squinting all day and annoyance on eyes.

Yeah looked up tremors and kinda worried may be something serious but then again might not be because I don't think speech tremors can just go away

I mean I gotta thank my tremors i mean cause of them in a sense would of never gotten talented on many experimental pixel style art.
But kinda wish had ability to make crisper lines cause hate when someone gives me unwanted critique and go straight for sloppy lines ect probably best solution if can't fix hands to embrace it and then see about finding or making tools to give me the crisp lines, my shakey hand can't make clean.

Sorry to hear that caused loss of work for you also and had hate on self, hate those emotions that try to keep us down and back

Agree with Venator. Could be other things at play including medications. See your doctor first. I love the line "Embrace the Squiggle." But you need to find out if that squiggle is truly you. Good luck :)

Nursenurse@ yeah I do take quite a fair bit amount of medication, sometimes feel got more meds than senoir citizen and I'm only 21

Lol. Antipsychotics are notorious for that, why not check with your pharmacist - they know more about the meds than most doctors do, then you can go back to the doctor armed with more info if it appears that any of your meds could be the cause of the tremors.

You probably had blood work done, but if you haven't - please do. Very low potassium can make your hands shake. It probably isn't this, but worth a shot. If you by chance have severe GI distress and evacuation, that can mess everything up. The cells' potassium-sodium make up goes wacko and a person will shake. Or it could be from diet. If it's that, drink Gatorade pronto!

I had a jazz playing pianist friend once who suddenly had pain and shaking in her arms and hands. She went to 15 traditional doctors and they couldn't do a thing. Then she heard about this non-traditional guy who did hands on healing and massage and cleared it up. That was 20 years ago and I don't know where she is now to ask her what kind of doc he was. But my point - if the regular docs can't do anything, I'd look into alternative ways of healing.

nursenurse@ yeah could be the meds cause I know the meds help my problems but then the meds true purpose could be causing some side effects but then I only had hand tremors when wasn't on meds but more likely my past and fact can't really ever get passed the pain and fear of that.

But my twitches and stuttering seemed to of dissapeared with time and probally might be on anti psychotics cause pretty unstabled due to keeping alot in till burst into rage and emotions, should check the true purpose of my meds cause don't doubt docs might not tell me things due to me flipping out and thinking there making me out to be a freak and my main one prozzak heard was for psychopaths through word of mouth

Franciemarnie@ had blood work and got 6 vials taken over time at a lab to test for everything could and didn't see much there and is gatorade good colon flusher? but good point to find other doctors but ussually other specialist cost alot for just appt meeting even though my card can cover the costs always. Thought to see a Naturopathic doctor but the costs made me cancel seeing those type of doctors

The essence of the embrace the squiggle speech is that we must evaluate ourselves in the present moment and work with what we have every waking second because that's all we've got - no more, no less. We can have potential and we can strive toward goals and healing but every day is a new day and in each day we must work with the tools we've got. :) I hope that makes sense.

As far as stutters and stuff go - could it be med side effects?? Are you withdrawing from anything?

I had brain zaps and shakes for a month after zoloft.

Gatorade puts potassium (and sodium) back in your system. As you probably know runners drink it for dehydration, which can also make you shake. It saved my husband when he had excessive blood loss after operation. And when I have - forgive me - diarrhea - it stops my shaking. Just for fun, try some and see if it helps. Cheaper than the docs, etc. You can rule that out fast then.

@Venator True that we humans have ability to make tools to fix anything as long as we believe and don't give up, seen kids with no hands get fully functioning hands from 3-D Printing and craftmenship.

I don't seem to get withdrawals or cravings for meds but I did deal with my PTSD for longest time by accepting all illegal drugs was offered and basically have done almost every susbstance in suicidal drug trip.

So even if mind isn't going through any withdrawals,my body might be but then could be a secret problem that stresses me out to no extent where I have to take allergy meds for stress rashes. But Stutters and shakes never started with any meds, I was a spazzoid that couldn't be touched without freaking and thinking worse pain will befall me and could never be touched in back of neck without intense pain shooting there and rage . (last person who rubbed it, I bit chunk of skin out of).

Doc says its probally sensitive cause repressing something to do with action, but I have alot of problems already and makes me very uptight and paranoid and hope can really find some sort of med that keeps me mellow but won't add side effects cause don't want to sleep hurt my love with night terrors or flip shit if she grazes back of neck. or get stuttery and twitchy when something brings up past.

@franciemarnie Will try some gatorade cause I massively become dehydrated all day and have to drink liquids so don't get pasties (also sometimes feels like pop rocks in mouth when not) but that also could be cause I need jaw surgery badly

Please do try the Gatorade soon just to rule it out. When you are at a certain level of dehydration and the cells make-up is off balance, sometimes drinking water can actually wash out even more potassium and sodium and you won't improve and could get worse.

Runners drink Gatorade and not water on long runs because they have lost the sodium that holds in the water. They can get more dehydrated if they don't have the sodium. This is over simplifying, but you can find out easy by drinking Gatorade.

If you feel lightheaded too, your blood pressure could have plummeted. My husband went to the emergency room for dehydration. He thought he was dying.

If you have something salty to eat, you might munch on that.

No doubt you have trauma, but in this case it would be great if for once something was an easy fix!
