Hank schrader in breaking bad

This is such a random question, but I’m a huge fan of breaking bad. I’ve watched it a few times and I was thinking to myself: did Hank Schrader have PTSD?

I was thinking of his personality traits and some of them strikes me as PTSD.

Haven't seen enough of the series but will say that Will Conway from House of Cards is a perfect example of PTSD. To a tee!

I'd say he did, or at least some PTS. I'm not sure what the time frame was there.

I was watching an episode yesterday, where Hank is assigned to go to El Paso (which is something he always dreamt of doing), yet seems so reluctant and shaken to go. Just made me think...

(Spoilers, don’t read if you haven’t watched the show but want to)

Another die hard fan here. I think he developed trauma after El Paso.

It’s not everyday you see people die in a gruesome way like that. And after, in the elevator, I think he was showing some serious signs of anxiety/dissociation. Later with his spouse he was kinda distant/passive agressive and he sought out a barfight (without his gun) just for the heck of it. So yeah, definitely trauma.

But PTSD is diagnosed when the symptoms are sustained and don’t go away. Also, PTSD can manifest itself many years after a traumatic event. Considering what happened with Hank, it’s impossible to say.
