I started this thread because of something I read on one of the Wikis. It said that we remember traumatic things easier than happy things. To that end, I'd like to share happy memories. Memories that make us smile are just as important as memories that made us numb or cry, maybe even more so. So please, share your happy memories, the ones that make you smile, and hopefully your day will brighten up too!
They can be recent memories, or memories from your childhood. They can be something as simple as meeting a new friend, or as complicated as walking a tightrope at a circus. Whatever it is, as long as it's something that made you feel good- because if we have to remember the bad times, we can at least try to make an effort to remember the good times too!
1.Going on the see-saw in the playground with Daddy. He'd let me go low by straightening his knees, and then he'd let me go high up to the sky by squatting on the see-saw. He wouldn't let me down until I told him I'd give him a hug. And he'd do the same. :) I was three years old.
2. Staying at school during those annoying half days, when there were exams in the afternoon and classes in the morning. Nobody else went to the morning classes- except my best friend! We would go bug our physics teacher. :) One time, I wrote the lyrics to "A Whole New World" from Aladdin on the blackboard. It was fun. I was sixteen.
3. Trying to teach my brother the song "Jingle Bells Batman smells/Robin laid an egg/batmobile lost a wheel and Joker did ballet hey!" in the car going to my babysitters. It didn't work too well. He sang "Jingle Bells Batman smells/laid an egg" and stopped. He was two. I was seven. I had to listen to him sing that for about three minutes, from the coffee shop to my babysitters house. It was cute. :) We still talk about it.
So there are some happy memories. I'll add more if I think of any, and I hope others do too! Even though life can be awful sometimes, it can also be really great, and happy memories remind us of that. So share! They don't need to get too personal, but if they make you feel good, I'm sure they'll make others feel good too! (Please post in list form like I did to separate the memories if you post more than one in a post.)
