I tried it last night and it works great. So I had my oldest and my daughter try it. They both just giggled thinkin mom had lost her mind!

My dad showed me how to do that when I was a kid. Other people always thought I was nuts opening bananas that way, but I liked being "different".

Another banana fact: If you separate all your bananas from the bunch, they don't ripen as quickly. Makes them harder to hang on the banana hook, though.

I told this to my 12 year old and now have 5 uneaten bananas sitting on the kitchen counter. It appears to have worked and is also vastly entertaining. I foresee a banana-heavy trifle this evening.
