I guess I have never really thought about this until Flyaway mentioned it to me.
Yesterday I got a massage for the first time. The whole drive up here I was anxious. There was lots of traffic as well. I was hit by a semi 2 years ago while driving. I remember thinking, "This is it, I am going to die." Obviously I'm okay.
I have been in numerous car accidents (I was never the driver in those accidents) as well. So the suffocating traffic with semis was a little intense. I had to keep telling myself I was safe and breath.
We went straight to the spa and got massages. They had hot tea in different flavors and that's one of my outlets for relaxing. So I sipped on tea in the "tranquality" room, in a robe, completely naked underneath. After relaxing in there, 2 men came in and got us.
I was scared because I was naked underneath in a room with 3 men-including my fiancée. In all reality I knew I was safe but I was scared until the massage started.
I am SO PROUD of myself for doing that and trying something new. It was really amazing. Also because it's the anniversary of my sexual abuse this weekend and to be able to do that just really showed how brave I have become.
We are going to a winery today. I have never been to one, but always wanted to try it, but couldn't because if anxiety.
I have come a long way and still have a long way to go. This weekend has been relaxing and much needed.
Now I know there are healthy touches and those are okay and not harmful. I have never practiced healthy touches. Usually I just stay away from all human touches.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend :)
