I am here to learn about PTSD from people who live with it rather than write about it. I started college 7 weeks ago studying social science to get me on the on my journey towards being a specialist PTSD counsellor. I know someone who I studying to become a PTSD researcher so we are hoping to put these occupations together to help sufferers

Hahahaha pmsl... I've never actually met a Scot who does like haggis, as for the kilt....I prefer men to wear men's clothes thank you very much :roflmao:

on that we do agree. I wear normal clothes, usually black jeans and top. I don't like formal which is why I prefer Richie instead of Richard. I take my work seriously but other than that its better to have a laugh and relax. Getting stressed never helps anybody

I dont fit that category anyway because I do not suffer from PTSD. I actually consider myself as a non-c...[/QUOTE

Laughter is sooooooo good for the soul.....too much anger, too much hatred, too much violence in this world.
I, despite my condition, try to find something funny in everything...That is, when I am in ok mode, like I am now.
I'm wondering how you scots pronounce Richard... Do you pronounce the ch the same way you pronounce it in och? Lol

I have to correct you. And I am only speaking for myself here. I don't live with PTSD, it is a squatter in my home, an unwelcomed tyrant that forced its way into my life feeding of me like a leech, and if you are truly here to learn about PTSD, then you will learn to ask questions in a gentlemanly manner, without trying to point out what was wrong with the way it was written.
Many people, including me, come to this site severely distressed and the last thing on our mind is the English grammar. Or how we word our sentences. In fact, some might possibly come here swearing and ranting if they're in the middle of a flashback.
It is your job to be polite to every sufferer here, no matter what they write. At all costs.

Just saying. :)

we pronounce it ch as in church. We do speak some English up here lol
You do?
I'm sorry that I am the one who has to break your heart now.... Scots do not speak English at all. They speak scottlish. Pmsl
Nobody and I mean nobody can understand you when you speak!! Not even I...

possibly a little out of context? I meant 'live with it' as in a sufferer as a more reliable source than a researcher or therapist who can't be described in that way in any sense. I was not at all suggesting that it is a part of you or your life and I apologise if it seemed that it came across that way
