Hi,
I am so sorry about your husband and everything you've written.
I sometimes see violent images too. It used to scare the hell out of me. If its any use, here are the things that helped me. My therapist suggested that I try to ground myself when I have the images by focusing on something in my vicinity that I can touch, describe, smell or taste. That shifts your attention from your memory to the current time. It also helps me not getting upset about the image and trying to fight them off, but instead acknowledging that they are here and telling myself that its OK. They are just images, little ghosts from the past and they will go away. I still get them, but they are much less frequent and they don't scare me anymore.
Good luck, you're a brave lady.
