Saffy :)

WOW. I never expected to recieve so much support. Thank you all for your kind words. I don't really know what to do from here though!

Hi LostLilly. A newbie here myself, I started looking around the forum and let what ever catches my attention and respond with the feelings that come forward. As I read posts and/or write, I learn more about myself as well as feel supported and feel good supporting others. It makes me feel worthy, not how past trauma tried to make me feel. This is also a place that you can talk with others that understand, where as most people in our day to day lives don't want to talk much about hardships. Glad you here.

I don't really know what to do from here though!

Some thoughts that come to mind, in no particular order. Take a deep breath, look around, share what you're ready to share when you're ready to share it. Take it all at your own pace. Sample a little bit in the different major sections, including the supporters section and the anonymous section. Let the conversations that you are drawn to naturally happen. Don't worry about backing out of a thread that is too intense. You don't have to read every word here, and there's no point in pushing your trigger buttons needlessly. The trauma diaries, as you can imagine, can get very intense, both reading others' diaries as well as writing your own (which is totally optional, but very helpful for many people).

And don't be ashamed to admit to negative feelings as you process what was a terrible experience, one that never should have happened to you in the first place, and that echoes still in your life today. Own your feelings, even as you may work to find a way to compartmentalize them and tame their wilder side. As you can see, there is lots of support here for people like us.

The work that you will do to process what happened to you - here in forum, with your T, internally with yourself - will be hard, so hard sometimes. It will stir up those hard feelings and sometimes send your head spinning. But will be so worth it - you are young still, with many decades of living and striving and loving to do, and your children need you very much - not just to feed them and shelter them, but to give them the true kind of love that you should have had, to be the kind of parent and protector that you should have had.

That's all I got for now. Welcome.
