Hello,

I am so scared right now. My wife has been diagnosed with PTSD from childhood verbal and mental abuse from her mother. We are going through the process of separation as it seem that some things that I do are triggers. We both agree that I am not verbally or mentally abusive, but for some reason there are certain things that trigger her. I love my wife to the ends of the Earth and back and I am going to be supportive, because I want to be here when she is ready.

Help! Thanks!

Hi and welcome.

It is wonderful that she has you to support her, I wouldn't be at the stage I am now without my wonderful H.

Read as much here as possible especially the articles with the sticky pins. Then check out the supporters section. I know you will be made welcome and learn a lot as well.

Wishing you peace
KP

Hi TheChad and welcome to the forum:).

Like KP said - read around. I (and our daughter) trigger my husband as well. Just to be clear - if you are not doing anything abusive, but just living like a normal person and it sets her off, it is HER problem to deal with, and not your fault that she gets triggered. This is a hard thing to swallow (at least it is for me.)

Is she getting treated?
