How are you coping with Epstein news? (not a debate thread)

The general public knows only the tip of the iceberg, the part about teenage girls groomed and then trafficked. There must be a name for this technique. It's what the ruling class does when the truth is inevitably coming out about one of their atrocities. Choose one of their own to throw under the bus, release a small amount of the truth, bring the media onside and act like they've discovered a one-off horror and dealt with it. The public get to shudder and say "ain't it awful" but there is never enough information released for people to put the full picture together.

Do we know exactly who did what? No. But we know everything you just said. And releasing these files is just a facade. It's not about us knowing the exact details. That isn't justice.
Justice is convictions.
None of which any of this "release the files" is achieving or anyone is even discussing.

I remain totally outraged, triggered, dispairing, that nothing at all changes. It all pretence. It's an illusion of change so that we can say "oh but at least there is a conversation about it".
Well, I'm not grateful about that.
There is no change.

I feel like it's both. People need to know how the system that allowed it to happen works, so they stop passively allowing it. AND we need justice. Thing is, even assuming the justice system were willing to arrest these people, there are soooooo many who still worship the ground the elites walk on and wouldn't understand why, unless the full story came out. So it's both/and.
Totally agree that it's the illusion of change. The encouraging thing is no one seems to be buying the illusion anymore.
 
how am i coping? i am choosing to wait until it sounds like we are reaching the end zone to get excited about the game. Too many talking heads commenting on it, too much BS about resisting the release then celebrating the compliance then witholding the total release, its all just a long tedious build up to what will become a binary result: all or nothing, trump knew and suffers the results of that or trump walks away un scathed.
Wake me up when it looks like we are nearing the final results, until then i will be coping by waiting it out.

I can relate to some of this. While I have different expectations for the outcome, I relate to the "wake me up when it's over" part. That's actually the main reason I'm here: for an outlet and a distraction from the dark pit this whole saga has gotten me into. I still haven't found anyone, in my daily life or here, who gets where I am coming from on this, but the outlet and distraction part are sort of working.
 
The fact that it has gotten me, like a lot of other people, into a dark pit? Yes, a lot of people understand that. How it affects me specifically, no. It would take a book to explain the intricacies of why I say this, but it's not hyperbole. I've tried many times in the past nine months. Nope. This particular dark pit? I'm in it alone.

I wish one thing, if something good could come from this thread. People are so polarized because this is seen as a political issue and people keep connecting it back to one particular politician that almost everyone either loves or hates with a passion, to the point that discussing anything remotely related gets people so upset that a rational conversation is impossible. It's very isolating. I wish that even for a moment, we could set that aside and recognize what this is doing to us as human beings. I think that's what the OP meant.

So yeah... in combination with a lot of other things related to it, it's made a real mess of my life.

We all venture into our own dark pits along the PTSD path. There are many similarities between those pits, but yes, every pit is unique to the person. If that was not the case, then we would all be alike, not individuals.

Not sure Epstein is political. People like to try that on, for sure, but Epstein is dead. Are there things we aren't being told? I'm pretty sure there is a lot the world is not being told. What ever happened to journalism? You can sit around, piss and moan about something being political, OR, we can focus on where the real problem lay. The death of journalism. Journalists used to get around all the blocks and uncover stories, but today they just repeat what they're told by a corporate overlord. There are very few independent journalist now to actually dig into what goes on in the world.

People can blame politics, but really the issue is the lack of independent journalism. These people used to upset the system and uncover the truth. Not nowadays.

I have so many opinions about these few paragraphs! Some in agreement, some not. But let's remember, this is not supposed to be a debate thread. It's supposed to be about how the Epstein saga is affecting us personally. If you want to start a new thread, I might participate... or not, depends how I'm doing on any given day. But I'm sure you would get a lot of heated debate, if that's what you're into.
 
In order to survive, I have become like an ostrich, burying my head in the sand in order to protect myself. The world is going to be the world, and I have absolutely no impact on changing that other than prayer. Been there. Done that. Spent years in court with my first husband, trying to protect my children from the pedophile. Truth. Well, it exists, but it’s not in the open. Justice? I’ve given up on justice in this world. The only peace I have is the Justice that will be done at the end of this world. As dark as it is out there, I am hoping and praying that it comes soon.
