How are you coping with Epstein news? (not a debate thread)

All of this coverup and corruption is triggering what I went through living with a corrupt police officer. Infuriating. But I am glad that it is starting to come out of the shadows now. Where it goes from here is anybody’s guess. Will the powerful remain evil in secret or will we all begin to live in the reality of the truth?

I’m very thankful to have this safe place where we can all share, away from social media, etc. We know what we know because of what we’ve been through. Others out there who haven’t been through it think we’re nuts if we share our opinions. I have also pulled away to a safe place where there are people I can trust because we’ve all been through stuff here. The blinders have been removed. But much of the population is still living in the dark about the truth. Hoping that all of this coming out will change that.

I saw an "alleged" picture of Epstein with a beard and sunglasses in Israel the other day. And ghilain trying to make a deal to get out of prison. It all dosent surprise me. They get out and other "offenders" do time. Whilst Pam Bondi ignores victims in the same room as her.

Yes, I am hearing word out there taht these images were put out there to gaslight us. That the Epstein one was AI and Gislaine was not even her at that appearance the other day. Just makes me realize that just like when I was being abused, trying to help myself out of homelessness, trying to understand what was happening to me and how to get out alive, how to stop the overwhelm, that everything was smoke and mirrors. I was being gaslit all over the place. This all feels exactly the same way. These are tactics but they are everywhere which is gaslighting and overwhelming that I can't seem to escape from. No idea if that makes sense to anyone but me.

You can't believe any image or short video today.
I think this position goes too far because it collapses into total skepticism an makes all video/photo evidence worthless. This actually benefits bad actors, because then real footage can be dismissed as fake without any counter-evidence (this phenomenon is called the “liar’s dividend”). AI does make verification harder but not impossible! I think a more logical stance is to treat visual media as evidence whose credibility depends on things like source, corroboration, metadata, and context. Instead of asking is it real or fake, I think it’s better to ask, “How confident should I be about this, given what I know?”

I think that is two questions, not one. First, is it real or fake? Second, how confident should I be about this information?

If the answer to the first question is, fake, then it negates the second entirely. Yet if true, the second question then needs to be asked. There should be zero need to ask the second question if it is fake. Video and imagery that is. A lot of Youtube is now fake, either entirely OR it contains fake parts to prove a conclusion.

The problem with most media today, is not that healthy questions or information get shown to determine a conclusion, but instead they form the conclusion, then they piece together the argument to demonstrate their already formed conclusion.
