How Did You Sleep Last Night?

How are you doing now... Have you slept any?

Thanks for asking Ruckster. Yes I have, ..I've begun to get some sleep this week most mornings after or at about 2, 3ish AM and probably for about 5 or 6 hrs.

One of these recent mornings though it wasn't until 6 am. At first I feared there might be a repeat of that exhausting chunk of time without sleep, but this wasn't so and also I was lucky that I was able to sleep in late the morning I fell asleep at 6am and til about Noon.

I've done better this week and so long as I continue falling asleep at or before 2:30 am this would be great for now. But, the no sleep way was simply too much.

Also with my sleeping it's that generally always once I am asleep, I'm out soundly and don't wake til its about time I ought to be getting up.

That sounds like a definite improvement.. So glad to hear!

Poorly. I have been staying up late for no good reason recently. Then, I wake up around 3-4 with lots of anxiety. If I was smart I would just get up and do something productive, play guitar, clean, go for a walk, etc. When I can make myself do that I am tired the whole day, but start the day on the right foot, and feel better about myself/my life. Instead, I told myself, well, I guess I'll just try and get some more sleep, so I 'slept' fitfully and anxiously until about 730. I feel a bit more rested, but I still feel tired all day. I'd rather spent the day feeling a bit more tired but a bit more at peace with things too, then be able to go to sleep earlier. I guess I know what I need to do when I wake up early tomorrow morning with my mind racing but still wanting to hide in my bed.

Well I went to bed at about 1230, here it is 5:16 and I'm already awake, showered, and eating breakfast. Going to head to the park in a bit to watch the sunrise and play guitar with my furry friend, Snarls Barkley. I'll be tired all day, but at least I'm starting off less anxious than when I woke up.

WOW! I tend to not be able to fall asleep until late, and my partner has to be in bed with me, or falling asleep is really difficult. And my deepest sleep periods / nightmare picnic time :cautious::eek: is in the early hours of the morning between 3am and 7am, and then between 7/8am to 11am.

It doesn't matter what I try, I can't seem to break that cycle, I just get more tired, anxious and exhausted mentally when I try to get my rythym to a more sociable time.
I tried for over a year, and that, combined with the anxiety completely burnt me out, and that was 7 months ago.

I'm only now starting to feel a little more energetic after sleeping whenever my body demanded it, and getting up when I was feeling restless.

This is probably relevant to everyone in this thread, but Bub, do you exercise? I understand you might not feel like it if youre tired, but it can help you burn off a lot of stress in a healthy way as well as tire you out so you sleep better.

Also, I have found connecting yourself with the suns natural rythym helps a lot to set your body's clock. Hence why since I couldnt sleep today I was out watching the sunrise, by the time noon rolls around hopefully I'll felt like I've been up for a whole day almost, and by the time it gets dark out I'll be starting to feel tired.

If you've ever gone on a backpacking trip you might find your natural rhythm gets set pretty easily. You get woken by the dawn, have nothing to do all day besides exercise cook eat and set up your shelter, and not much reason to stay up past dark.
