How Did You Sleep Last Night?

I slept ok. Most nights I will wake up between 3-4am and have a lot of trouble getting back to sleep. Last night I woke up but I didn't feel quite so restless (no bad dreams thankfully) and I managed to fall back to sleep off and on.

Normally I get up naturally at about 7.30am but this week I've been feeling really low and it's been difficult to get out of bed before 9am. I just lie there with all kinds of horrible thoughts whirling through my head. Hoping this will stop soon, as I'm normally quite the morning lark if I've had enough sleep.

I got 5 hours of sleep. I could not go back to sleep, so I ran the dishwasher and cleaned out the cat box and am now online. I had a rough day yesterday grieving. I think that causes me to lose sleep. No nightmares though.

Last night not bad. Woke up a couple of times, but got back to sleep.

Night before, couldn't get to sleep at all, so got up, then when went back to bed lay awake for a couple of hours. Got woken up twice (when I did eventually fall asleep) by a cat bodily throwing himself at the bedroom door, and when I was actually asleep had bad dreams (don't remember what). Woke up with clenched fists and my jaw aching from grinding my teeth.

I actually slept well last night. But I had a really long day at work yesterday, starting at 6am and got home at 9pm and was in my bed at 10.30. Nonetheless today I am absolutely shattered. I am grumpy and not nice to be near. I know it was a busy day but I really thought after a good night's sleep I would be brand new this morning.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Ouch, on both counts:

@SL, I burn myself quite a bit from cooking, although I'm getting better at paying more attention, but it's really difficult when you're trying to function on lack of sleep. Your reactions are all off and combining that with stress, it's a bad recipe. I hope the scald is okay.

@TP, have you tried a mouth guard? I hope you're less stressed soon; jaw pain is unpleasant. I clench mine in my sleep as opposed to grinding, and it took me a long time to learn or remember loosen my jaw before going to sleep.

I slept from before midnight to 5.30am. There were no nightmares thankfully. I would like to have slept a bit later, but I'm happy for sleep that is consistent for hours. That makes a huge difference to how I feel.

I had another night of broken sleep. I have woken up with bruises and scratches on myself, I remember fighting in my dream, I must have connected with my bedside table!

Most nights I wake up around 3 and lie awake for awhile before getting some sleep. I dream often in the early mornings..

I wonder if I should be staying up later and taking my sleeping tablets then so I stop waking up at 3am?

I had several nightmares last night and I kept waking up. I was finally able to sleep from 6 to 8 am. When I got up, my bed was a mess with sheets and blankets all undone.

Thanks. I haven't, because I don't do it often enough (so far) to make it worthwhile - though if I start doing it more often I may well get one. I clench my fists more often, and sometimes have to lie on my hands, or put them under my pillows to stop myself clenching them.
It was a particularly stressful day for me on Monday, hence the rubbish nights sleep.

Next day was a bit better, hence better night the next night.

Since then, not too bad, other than a slight procrastination over going to bed...
