How do i not worry people with my depression?

@Justmehere gotta tell you.... There are many symptoms of PTSD that I can’t stand, but the 2 that I hate... Depression and anxiety. They both suck so bad, because I feel helpless, hopeless and alone with myself. I’m sorry that you’re having such a freaking hard time dragging yourself out of this. I know exactly how bad it is.

Just keep forcing yourself to self care, and wash your socks. It gets expensive buying new stuff!!!! *smile* I know you want too!!!!!
 
At the risk of sounding really stupid: why don't you want the people around you to be worried?

I don't quite know what I'm talking about here, meaning I dread making my friends worried, but I'm really tempted to ask this question. I mean, I get worried from time to time because some person I like seems to be in a bad place. I don't think it's something that person should try to avoid. I can live with my worry and often it even feels - erm, good? somehow. Because it tells me that the person is valuable to me and that I'm connected to them in a truly emotional level.

Some background info: I grew up not knowing that people actually care about each other and successfully help and tend their suffering fellow creatures. All I knew was that if I was in a not-so-good shape I must keep it a secret. It has been a long process to learn to let myself be helped. And even worried about. So, now I'm trying to figure this thing out. That's why I'm asking this question. Sorry if it's totally OT and thread-jacking.
 
Isn’t it up to your friends to manage their own feelings?

Why are you trying to manage their feelings for them?

IME this is something that many trauma survivors experience.

We think we have to make everyone else feel ok.

We don’t.
