How do you like your coffee? or do you drink it at all??

I used to be a hardcore coffee drinker, morning, noon, and night and every chance I got in between.

Often wishing it was available intravenously to get me through the day.

Would also drown it with those artificially sweetened and flavored dairy creamers, too, especially french vanilla.

Then I learned of the short and long term effects that the caffeine, the dairy products, and the artificial sweeteners and other artificial ingredients were having on my body and how all of it was likely contributing to the ongoing energy crashes, fatigue, inflammation, mood swings, rolling morning belly, etc., etc. that were being labeled and treated as many other things and kicked it all to the curb.

Ironically, I'm more awake and functional during my days now than I recall being during those times, and that list of issues I suffered with greatly lessened, too, eliminating the need for multiple treatments and prescriptions. (I also eliminated many other things in addition) Never would have guessed it, but I'm sure diggin' it. Warm herbal infusions and lemon water are my liquid fuel now.

I used to grind my own coffee beans, had a little coffee grinder that I did it with. There was a coffee shop in town that sold South American coffee and I would sometimes buy beans from them. They had a machine they used to roast them in, then they would bag them and sell them.

I've heard somewhere that one or two cups of coffee a day is good for you. I forget where or who I heard this from though, but I have heard it a few times, just in passing.

My Dr.'s office does ask me on my yearly Physical From how many cups of it I drink though, so maybe the next time I go I shall ask! I would be curious to know why they ask and what they think of my answer.

ILLY by preference.
Anything in desperate times.

In between those 2? LOL. I'll cheerfully drink Starbucks! :sneaky: the house blend is trash, and a lot of the varieties are burnt to (badly!) emulate the deep rich velvety snap you get from really premium beans... But Casi Ciello is really decent, as are a few of the other varieties. Although don't even get me started on their French & Italian roasts. :shifty: I can understand wanting to engender a hatred of France, it's almost a national pastime, but WTF has Italy done (lately)??? The burning also makes sense in the Pacific Northwest where they started out, because of the climate, it brings out the oils; so even weak coffee has a kick to it that helps combat the bleak, dreary, horrible, no good, very bad weather. So do pubs, though. And those have still yet to catch on >.<

Available.

As in I really don't care. Just need caffeine. Figured cutting it down entirely didn't work. So if it doesn't make me stomach sick, I'll grab it. Need caffeine to sleep, minimum.

I mostly drink my coffee black. Sometimes I'll make myself a poor man's bulletproof coffee - 1-2 Tbs of grass fed butter with 1-2 Tbs coconut oil blended with a strong cup of coffee.

I used to use fake sugar... but I ended up with a skin reaction to it, basically too much of it from food and coffee. So no sugar period for me nowadays, and I don't eat low fat anything, as that is full of the fake sugar stuff. I do miss my fake sweetener though.

I've head of Yak Butter Tea (with salt, instead of sugar). :wtf: I blame altitude sickness. (Tibetan thing).

I am considering what to blame butter in coffee on? The short list includes head trauma, self hatred, and fiendish delight in watching people fall to the floor in fits of apoplexy.

Tell me it comes out kinda-sorta-maaaaaybe like Icecream in coffee? No. I take that back. I'm just going to firmly assume it, no matter how incorrect, so I can elbow myself up off this floor and stop twitching... So just don't tell me it doesn't!!! :roflmao:
