How Do You Stay Motivated To Keep Working At Therapy?

Totally agree -- would not want to be having recurring 'chit chat' type sessions. I think my T would not be willing to do that; she's pretty purpose and goal-oriented. I love the idea of spending a session talking about positive memories and things that make you feel secure. I think my T would find this a very constructive thing to do as well.
 
I have found I needed a break from time to time. EMDR is such an intense form of therapy and requires a lot of work and time & energy. Sometimes I find myself going to therapy less often for a while -- but then more stuff starts coming up and I end up diving back in again. Respect and take gentle care of yourself.
