You can file disability through the VA.
I'm almost positive your age does not matter.

Well I'm a Brit but you're the same as the intake who were my immediate seniors through most of my career so I would be completely astonished if you were not in the frame. Agree with MurphyJB, your age shouldn't be a problem. Other benefits though, how about talking things through, doesn't disqualify you or anything and, if you've been carrying it a while, it should help.

Hey Phin, If the VA over there is like over here, all you have to do is prove you saw operational service and get one of the VA recommended psych's to sign off on it and your there.

We still have a lot of Nam vets who have suffered until now all because of the stigma attached to PTSD.
They are finally realising that the problem is not with the rest of the world but themselves.

There is no time limit. If you are about sixty you must have been in Nam around 71-72? You can file a claim for PTSD at anytime. All you need to file a claim is fill out VA Form 21-4138. I tried to post the link for the form but the system wouldn't allow it.

The book is current and up to date with examples of letters, completed forms, links to all the forms you need, just about everything you could ever ask for when it comes to filing a claim for PTSD. The PTSD book is in pdf but the file is to big to upload.

Anyone know any Iraq/Afghan Vets with PTSD in the Kansas City Missouri area that would be willing to do an on-camera interview? I'm producing a movie based on the novel Story of the Sand and the Director would like to do a few interviews for the DVD. Sorta' behind the scenes stuff with real Vet's talking about their experience with PTSD.
