Hi all

I got to thinking about headaches, how offen does this accure.
i know the interval is big, but it's just for getting an idea about the problem or if there is any problem.

IMHO, our headaches directly relate to the level of stress in our life/mind. But then, I also need to get my eyes examined so who knows which reason is causing mine. My eyes or my life.

I experience them every day here also. I do find the severity related to my current stress level.

A while back, I started taking OTC pain killers most mornings to avoid the headache I was almost certain to get. Still do this. So I don't really know anymore how often I would get headaches if I didn't act to prevent them. Hate the idea of how much of these pills I've taken, though. And sometimes I get headaches anyway.

I get headaches almost every day and have had terrible migraines since I was a child. I do think that it is related to the stress and anxiety we are going through at the time.

I sometimes go for months where I only get them on weekends because it is an unregimented day and I end up with time to ruminate. Weekdays start busy and stay that way all day and I might get one at home later, weekends I often wake up with one or have one by the time I am dressed. I do better when I am busy and involved in some type of high level concentration.

I have suffered from headaches and migraines more or less on a daily basis since my (abusive) childhood. It was always and continues to be attributed to stress. One of the meds I am on now is Topamax and it seems to be helping :)

Hi All

About 5yrs before diagnosis i began having frequent migraine/headaches, I was prescribed med for them. Over time I needed to take meds more & more, then, when i was diagnosed with ptsd my psych suggested i take an SSRi which meant i couldnt take migraine meds as well due to the risk of serotonin syndrome.
My GP suggested i stop taking any meds at all including pain killers & see what happened, my psych also suggested i increase my relaxation times. The first weeks were agony & i needed time off work but after a month the number of headaches started to decreased & it was decided that they were chronic rebound headaches due to stress & over medicating.

I'm also sure that the change was partly due to therapy & working through my traumas.

Now headaches are a thing of the past, i occasionally get one but can treat it with a dose of paracetamol & ibuprofen taken together.
I hope that gives some of you with chronic headaches some hope that they will stop one day.

I used to rarely get headaches like maybe 2 or 3 a year but last March I started getting migraines. It really sucks going from hardly any to migraines from hell. I get them in clusters usually 3 days in a row or thereabouts and it happens every 3 or 4 weeks. Does not correlate with menstrual cycle (why do people want to blame things on your menstrual cycle? Pisses me off). So this may not be related at all to PTSD but the MRI was normal and no known cause as to why after 39 yrs I am getting migraines frequently.

I get headaches in the evening mostly, after my day is nearly done and I'm tired. I know for a fact that I will get a headache if there is any conflict. Arguments, stressful or worrisome situations, or simply confusion will give me a headache every time. I take 4 ibuprofen at a time (200mg tablets), both in prevention and at the onset of headaches. My headaches almost always coincide with back aches. The headaches occur in my temples or across my brow, but if it's because of a rip roaring fight, its excruciating pain in the back of head. I wonder if the different levels of stress have anything to do with where on the head the pain occurs?
