Do you think that maybe it is the difference between opening yourself up to be truly vulnerable versus plutonic relationships had with friends, socialites, etc?but as soon as I get in a romantic relationship and I share the story of my trauma, I turn back into the fifteen-year-old I was when I was first abused--I'm meek, afraid, desperate for approval, and I lose sight of my sense of self and system of beliefs.
Vulnerability is the very think in a romantic relationship that doesn't typically exist in most other relationships. We are more vulnerable to a partner, emotionally, than even family, in the context of relationships.
