I used to sleep without issue. I once slept through a fire alarm in HS (boarding school). Now... well, I went to bed at 10 and I'm here at almost two.:( I wish I could sleep through the night. Sometimes I do - but never ever for more than eight hours any more - even when I desperately need the sleep. Mostly I get less than that. It started when L was born - but she is not really the issue anymore (although she has nightmares and sometimes wakes up). She was not a good sleeper until recently. And I still use a very very low dose of melatonin (her "sleepy vitamin") to help her wind down at night. I think her dad's side of the family generally (from his experience and her sister's) don't produce enough naturally - they all have trouble getting to sleep, and apparently so did his mom.
I wake up at lots of things now - dogs, who knows what. I think some of my H's hyper-vigilance has rubbed off.:( I take passion flower before I got to bed, and sometimes valerian (although that tends to leave me groggy in the AM, and doesn't really work any better). I'll try the aroma therapy.
