@trytothinkdeep, have you been diagnosed with PTSD or do you support someone who has been diagnosed with PTSD?

Before responding, I'd like to check that your reasons for joining the forum are PTSD-related and that you have personal experience/understanding of PTSD.

Many "sex offenders" only had child porn on their computer.

Every child whose picture ends up on that computer has been abused so that their picture can be sold and passed around sick disgusting people. Those sick disgusting people should be locked up so that those who abuse those children have nobody to buy their pictures.

Some victims may suffer forever.....SOME....The girl who accused my loved one has all the appearances of living an extremely happy successful life.

Victims of sexual abuse shouldn't need to walk around with a flag telling everyone. I can understand your bias for your loved one. I also recognise that some people wrongfully accuse others and they are dispicable people. But if your loved one sexually abused that girl, then he deserves to be locked away, whether she is strong enough to get on with her life or not.

To abuse any child in any way is disgusting. To want to have anything to do with children sexually is sick and people who do it need to be locked up.

Okay...my turn.

My soon to be stepson was put into prison for having *** with a 13 year old twice while lying to her that he was 17 when he was 20. Not only did Facebook get subpoenaed in regards to this but he did this once in my house and once at her house and he was given 3-6 year sentence, now out on work release. Being r***d at 14, this makes me vomit and I have a certain way of thinking in regards to this kind of horror in which I will not discuss here. My STB ex and his mother have coddled and enabled this child's behavior stating he had ADD or ADHD while ignoring my pleas to let him grow up and deal with the crap on his own. Now he is 23 and they are still making sure he's okay and happy while I am horrified at this continued enabling behavior. The way I was told by my STB ex, I was the one with the problem and told to talk to the stepson in regards to what has happened to me. WHY????? I don't need to tell him what happened to me-especially when I am divorcing his family because of their dysfunctionality and their obliviousness of anything else but themselves.

The way I look at it is this:
Karma-No need for revenge. Just sit back and wait. Those who hurt you will screw up themselves. If you're lucky, God will let you watch.

I do not think you will find anybody who disagrees with those particular words, they are true and well accepted by everybody. Part of the cause of my PTSD is loving someone who was wrongfully convicted. The justice system is more than frustrating to deal with. Added to that fact, the PREJUDICE that surrounds anybody accused of anything sexual, from urinating where someone saw them, on through the 19 year old who was told his girlfriend was 17 when she was 14, and then the people who had child porn on their computer. Law flies out the window when a person is accused of a sex act. The constitution is thrown down the toilet. That is because of the hysteria which has been created by the media. People have been trained to believe not facts, but propaganda.

Nobody concones when an old man has sex with a small girl and buries her alive! Nobody! Or the other real bad guys who actually hurt or molest children. But the public attitude in the US is out of alignment with the true facts. People do not realize HOW MANY inmates there are who were falsely accused. If any of you would just take for a theoretical proposition....what if this inmate were falsely accused and falsely convicted? Take that proposition and then re-read your words as to what ALL inmates who are called sex offenders deserve. It could be YOU. It could happen to anybody. I am sure that these words will be disregarded because the majority of people believe that anybody convicted, must have been guilty. Thank God for organizations like the Innocence Project who prove how wrong that belief is. So, if you can follow that line of reasoning, what tortures do you want done to sex offenders? Because whatever harsher and harsher law that is passed in order to further PUNISH sex offenders, to further take away their human rights, well that law will be executed on both the guilty and the innocent.

The question of wrongful conviction is a whole different matter to laws that police sex offenders. It is ridiculous to suggest that laws to govern sex offenders should be softened in some way just in case someone is wrongfully convicted.

If you were talking about wrongful imprisonment, then I would empathise with your position. But at the moment you sound like you want to take your hurt out on anybody who supports punishment for sex offenders.

I have been sexually abused and raped, and what you are saying is harsh and extremely painful to listen to.

Yes I am able to see that you are angry and bias towards one individual case. But perhaps you could consider the people who have genuinely been damaged through sexual assault and rape.

I will never agree with your opinion that people who have child porn on their computers are commiting any lesser crime than pedophiles, and they deserve the same punishment as the child abuse industry that they CHOOSE to support. It is sickening to hear someone defend that, it really is.

I wish people would stop calling it "child porn"; they are images of crime scenes - images of the rape and abuse of children. People who have these images on their computers are encouraging such crimes to be perpetrated. Which is why it is a crime to be in possession of such images, for whatever reason you might want to concoct.

@trytothinkdeep - I am sorry that the conviction of your partner/friend/family member has caused your PTSD. I hate the idea that anyone might be wrongly convicted. It is an awful thing. I hope you get justice at some point soon.

Please, however, be mindful of the terrible crimes that have been committed against many of us as children. Dismissing or minimising what happened to us or other children like us will mean that your message is obfuscated or obliterated. You will do your case no favours by doing so.

The title of this thread is “Human Rights For Sex Offenders.” How do you know who is a sex offender? How do you know what deed any particular inmate has done? My point is that some people are so eager to spew out venon that they do not even stop to think what an inmate who is labeled “sex offender” really is. He can be a variety of things. In my personal experience, when my loved one was jailed before conviction, there were 14 other men who were jailed with the same accusation. Twelve of the men were accused by 15 year old girls from the same high school in this same small town. The “Women’s Organization” had visited the school indoctrinating the girls with slogans such as “Every three seconds, a girl is raped.” That has been proven to be wrong since then. They came in early April. By mid May these 15 girls had all reported they had been molested. The girls were friends. The prosecutor did not seem to find it strange? I would wonder at such a coincidence. Many of these girls had “repressed memories.”

CPS quickly entered the homes and took custody of the girls and placed them in foster homes. The mothers were threatened that they would never get back custory of the girls unless they filed for divorce, and all of them filed. The fathers were told that the mothers would never get back custody until the dads confessed to the deed. Many confessed in order that their daughter could go back with the mom. I know these families personally. They told me these things, same stories from the mothers. Now, when we discuss “Human Rights For Sex Offenders” do you not know that many inmates who are labeled “Sex Offenders” are just men like you? This happened to them. Many other wrongful things happen that get men into prison incorrectly. So when people go on the internet and simply say “I think all sex offenders should rot,” the politicians hear that attitude, and they act on it because they want the votes. The person who speaks those thoughless words, does he not know that “All Sex Offenders” have never offended a child? These girls were abused for sure. Not by a man, but by female social workers from CPS and by a female prosecutor. I am raising a child whose father is wrongfully convicted of a sex crime, and maybe you think he does not have it hard! When you advocate for deprivation of his father’s rights you are abusing this child.

@trytothinkdeep - you are grievously misrepresenting what I have said and until you actually read what I have written I have no intention of responding to you in any detail.

I was raped and abused as a child, and I have emerging memories of that abuse. I have CPTSD as a result.

I know nothing about your particular case and I have most certainly not "advocated for deprivation" of anyone's rights, and quite evidently not for your child's father's rights. I do not, and cannot, have any opinion of what has happened to you. I did, however, state that I hoped you got justice if he is wrongly convicted. And this barrage of accusation is what I get in response?

I suggest you retract your accusations in respect of me.

@trytothinkdeep people are trying to be supportive and understanding of your situation. Nobody here has said anything about him 'not having it hard enough'. Whilst I can understand your anger at the justice system, you are not justified in taking that anger out on others.

Meadowsweet, I went through and re-read your last post and it is not as bad as most posts. Other than talking down to me about my opinions, saying I should not be angry at people's comments, but that is a small small thing that I let slide right off. I am angry at comments I read that repeat mindless thoughrless slogans they have heard. I was abused as a child, not sexually, but there are other forms of child abuse that harm people. I can't help but be angry when people refuse to repeat wishes for the torture of other people, WITHOUT finding out the facts involved, just emotionally saying, "I was sexually abused, and all people (accused, innocent or guilty is implied) should be locked up and the key thrown away." That is simple REVENGE, emotional, not thoughtful. It is that kind of ignorance that is so rampant in US today. That is why we have 5% of world's population but 20% of people incarcerated. It is due to this evil thoughtless vengeful habit of not thinking that too many people are allowing themselves. Nobody on this forum wants to acknowledge that many many innocent people are accused and convicted of sex abuse. They do not want to because then their utterances of rageful hate speech would sound ugly in their own ears. When laws are passed such as the registry which punishes people even after they served a sentence, these laws effect innocent as well as guilty. Rather that 10 men go unpunished than that one innocent man be tortured.
