Relationship I’ve left him and he doesn’t care

So anyhoo...

He’s still being an arse but I realised that if he treated me like I was nothing when we were together of course he’s going to treat me like I’m nothing now that we’re apart. Somehow that made it easier to deal with.

I have a couple more days at the beach and then back to the mountains to return to real life.

Maybe it is just me but I think you come across self confident and free now... like some weight has been lifted from your shoulders, while when you were with him you did not seem to be so self confident.

My 3 weeks at the beach have wizzed by and tomorrow I start the 3 day journey home. On Sat I will return to what used to be our home to collect the rest of my belongings. Makes me feel sick to my stomach thinking about it.

May I suggest you make a list of what you must remember before you go, and check it before you leave.

It is very emotional collecting your belongings. I hope he has the good sense to be absent while you do so.

@dulcia - I feel like taking someone with me will rile him up. At the moment he is cold but polite - like you treat your least favourite Auntie. He just wants to get rid of me ASAP so he can move on with the next woman. (Because that’s a hell of a lot easier than working on his own issues!)

Can you ask him not to be there? It might make it easier for you. If not, writing all the reasons out, why you left and then reading them before you go may help you just see the abusive person he truly is and not the victim. Sending support and :hug:
