I know absolutely nothing about your family or their views on theology, so I can't really answer your question. A friend of mine refers to Olsteen's brand of Christianity as "Name it and claim it". There's a lot of stuff in the Bible. I suppose, to a point, everyone picks and chooses what they want to pay attention to. Olsteen & Co focus on "Ask and it shall be given unto you." Others prefer to focus on "Thy will be done". That's the short version of the way I understand it. (I have a funny story about a time when I actually stood up in church and asked, "What about 'thy will be done'?" and shut everyone up for several minutes. LOL) Anyway, he appeals to people who like to hear stuff that's easy and fun to hear, for sure.dislikes him. But why?
