I am enjoying it so much. I may leave it up for all of January. I have enjoyed the christmas season. It went by too fast. I have really loved it this year.

I feel like a little kid. I have loved the lights on the tree. I need to buy some lights and put them up. I love the lights.

I will probably take my tree down before the end of January. But I sure do not want to.

I used to take down the christmas stuff the day after christmas. I wanted to get rid of it. I do not want to do that now. It is a real struggle for me.

I feel sad that christmas is over. I did just enough and did not burn myself out on it this year. I am finally learning balance.

I do know what you mean. We did finally take ours down. It took my wife and I working 4 hours non-stop to get everything put away. probably 2/3rds of our tree ornaments go back into the specific boxes that came in when purchased. Quite an undertaking. It takes longer to take it down than it does to put it up.

Ohhhh, just remembered that I still have the outside lights up. That will be the last and won't take long.

Funny, I now think about my Dad when taking my tree down. Well, not funny Ha, ha, anyway. Dad died about 2 years ago now but for the 3-4 years prior to that, due to failing health, he always left the tree up through January thinking it was his last Christmas. It brought him joy. Sorry if that is a downer for anyone but I don't see it that way. It is one of my life lessons really. That you do what you can NOW to make yourself happy. That can be hard, but is something I strive for.

I may leave it up for all of January.

I'll just worry if you still have them up until Easter. ;) I believe it is still the 12 days of Christmas, so you still have time. My husband use to want to keep up the tree until then, but I'm one of those, once Christmas is done, down goes the decorations. Discovered this year that my son must have learned that from me, because before New Years, he was asking when we were going to take the tree down?

Have you ever seen those branches that go in vases and have lights on them? Granted they are usually white lights but they are pretty. They might have some Christmas ones left over. Michael's may have them or some sort of craft store. Then you can keep the sparkle and magic all year through!

Here are some:

There are definitely more out there. This is just a small sampling.

Gizmo, I think you should leave it up a bit longer. Or maybe find a small table tree and decorate for the next holiday.

We used to do this where I worked. Some people use them as night lights! Valentine, St Patrick Day, just change the theme/ornaments.

Everyone else has some great ideas as well. Happy New Year and Hugs, Whitney

Thank you all for the kind words and the encouragement and support. It will take me along time to undecorate my tree because I put the ornements back in the original boxes like Ish. It does take longer to put them away. I will leave it up a little while longer. Thanks again everyone. I am glad to know that I am not the only one that loved the lights. I will have to do something.
