Sufferer I Don't Think I Have Ptsd

JackAndy, When you have a chance I would recommend reading the article on PTSD by Anthony. There are many misconception's about the illness.

I read his article. It was very helpful in explaining some things that I didn't understand before. I feel like that adds some clairity and I really liked the part where he said that only 6% of PTSD sufferers get no relief from treatment. So it sounds highly treatable and manageable.

The mycomatptsd forum isn't going so well. It seems like some angry guys on there?
This is the point you ass, This SITE and all that it entails belongs to a very special club of men and women. Those that have SERVED in COMBAT and have PTSD related to that combat. We patrol the streets with rabid attitudes towards trespassers like YOU. You can obviously read and you know you don't belong in here from the first second you tried to join. If this site was for anyone with ptsd we would welcome you and throw open our arms to you. But its exclusive for a reason. We don't play well with others and we don't like it at all when someone who does not belong tries to barge in.

The real question is this, Why would you join knowing that this is a combat ptsd only site? Why not go troll elsewhere unless you only had the intent to stir the pot and cause grief? For that I find you guilty and a complete turd. Go away and don't bother us anymore, your not welcome here.

Not much help there, seems like 99% of the rest of the Internet.

Looking at that whole thread on My Combat PTSD, you were posting in the thread but not responding to various questions about whether you were a veteran or had been in combat. The site is for veterans, so I think it's reasonable to ask you if you were one. You had said here you were in the army, which is why you were directed there, although you did not seem to want to say that on the other site.

You're obviously suffering very much and I'm sorry for that. In response to your wondering in your first post here about whether someone can tell you what to do, I can only repeat that I think you need to find a way to access psychological services. I understand what you've said about how difficult that is, but I'm afraid we can't fill that gap for you.

However much goodwill we might want to extend to you here, we can't diagnose or treat you. I think even talking about symptoms might be misleading and even unhelpful, because here it's in the context of PTSD and if you don't have PTSD you may need a completely different approach.

Please don't blame members of this group of forums. These sites have a particular focus and requirements for being a member, and you have said yourself that you don't believe you have PTSD. However much I might wish you well - and I do - I can't help with things I don't know about. There may be other, more general, forums which could be of help to you, like psychcentral.com or other sites like that. It's not the same as professional help, but if you're seeking online support then there will be other places which are more in line with what you need.

I guess the core issue, is do YOU think you have a problem? Friends not withstanding do you? I would think that based on what you are experiencing on your opening introduction... that a consult would be worth your while. Personally I'm not a big advocate of meds I'm though the sort that prefers to tackle a problem head on. If you are experinecing paranoia or delusions or hallucinations... I think you would be best served to get a consult.

Hi Jack,

Sorry, but they are veterans, just as I am. I have banned you from that site because as Hashi mentioned above, they asked you a simple confirmatory question in which you failed to answer. That website is for veterans. Nothing more, nothing less. Veterans don't piss-off other veterans intentionally, therefor I took action to remove you from that website. They weren't hard questions to answer politely, thus I honestly agree that you have trolled that website.

I don't appreciate you bringing that here either. These websites are here to help you, the communities are here to help one another. Unfortunately, you need to want to help yourself and that starts with simply answering others questions they may have about you in order to get to know you. Being a veteran is not a personal question, or one of secrecy... again, I'm a veteran of multiple campaigns and I can tell you I am one, and I can tell you certain things to validate my service, without breaching any type of security. That is what you were asked their, and gave them a lot of shit as a result.

Again... if you want to be part of an online community, you have to also want to participate, not pick fights. Picking fights will only get you banned, which isn't the aim, want or goal of these communities.
