It was actually helpful to just know she was there - I think that's all I really wanted to begin with, which I don't know if that is a good thing or not to even want.
You wanted to know she hasn't abandoned you. I have been through that MANY times. I can't reach out to my therapist like you can but I have had him call me between patients just to tell me he is there and we are ok. Been through it in sessions. Once, he said "you know you are speaking very indirectly about us" (our working relationship) and I did know. I was suprised he did as it was that indirect.
You are going through a lot and you wanted to be sure you still had her and that she hasn't abandoned you. I think it's a good thing as I think it speaks to having a good relationship with her and feeling safe in that relationship. And a natural thing.
