I realize that I'm capable of being a group leader. I don't have to know everything but I can handle it.

.....have been engaged in a form of self-harm for decades without thinking of it as self-harm.

Avoiding the truth of my relationship and not addressing it is a form of self-harm. Changing myself to keep someone else happy, while being miserable inside, is not worth it.
The avoidance is not the easy way out....it is overall harder than facing the truth.
But I have refused to see this for years.:(
