I Realize That I

I realise I am pretty disconnected from myself and my experience.

I realize that I still don't know how to handle some social/people situations and frankly, at my age you'd think I'd be able to just spit it out when need be... but I still choke it back.

I realize that my hangups will become my child's if I don't learn how to reel it in.

I realise that if I don't stand back and stop taking so much on with Papa Bear, that I will burn out.

I realise that standing back is a really good strategy. I don't have to rescue. I don't have to fix everything. None of my siblings are here. None of them are going to die. I can stop projecting my trauma stuff on to everyone else.

I realize that I can still dream.

I realise that doing my yoga nidra, ten minutes of mindfulness, organising an appointment and focusing on self care are important things to do. I do deserve self care.

I realise that I am safe.

I realize that I may not always be understood and that is ok. I realize that is what makes it my recovery...that I am learning to understand myself on a level of acceptance, forgiveness, self-forgiveness and learning from my mistakes and from infractions I feel were done to me.

I realize that it is important to me not to deliberately attempt to hurt others as I have been hurt and to hold onto love as I understand it. I realize that it is important to make amends.

I realize that I am perfectly imperfect and glad I am here.

I realize that my handwriting is getting more readible the more I write. I realize how much I missed writing, the feeling of a pen in my hand and drawing lines on a paper.

I realise I need to be assertive and stand my own ground. I can do this bit by bit.

When other people fail to do their part of the bargain, I need to not pick up the slack all the time. It is important to be my own stability and my friend. It is important to do my own self care and take responsibility for my own life.

I realise that the yoga nidra that I did this morning and the 1.8 km I walked this morning are good for my health. I felt very anxious last night and I went and walked 2.6 km. That was a very important thing to do in managing my self regulation.
