I Thought I Was The Only One With PTSD

Hello my name is jenny i live in Melbourne Australia.

I have just stumbled on this web site. Its so strange I have thought that I was the only person with ptsd then I was looking at another forum (I'm a member) and read that a lady had ptsd I just burst into tears and I thought look kids I'm not the only one I cant be all that bad. Then a while later I bumped into this site, crazy isn't it.

I have had ptsd since DEC 94. Don't know what else to say so I will end this chat before I loose my nerve and press delete. I must try to sleep as its 1.45am.

I am a carer not a sufferer. I cannot say that I know how you feel but I can say I care about you and that I am glad you are here.

This place is fairly new to me too but it has been such a help in my life.

I hope as you revisit here you find a sense of community with probably many others that feel, so much, the way you do.

Ok, I don't always feel I should advise but.....
I don't know what your trauma is but I would just say to be open to everyone's experience. What I mean is that if your trauma is sexual abuse, there are still coping mechanisms to be learned from those with combat PTSD even though you may feel safest to open up to those with your trauma initially.
