I Went Sledding Today and Learned to Snowboard

Today my brother-in-law called and wanted to take my daughter sledding. I drove her over to his house and asked if I could go.

We had so much fun sledding and then I decided I wanted to try to snow board. So my BIL let me use his board and I practiced. I wiped out quite a few times but didn't get hurt to bad. However, I will feel it in the morning LOL

Finally, I was able to start at the top of the hill and make it to the bottom without wiping out. Never in a million years would I have thought that I would learn to snow board.

I haven't been sledding in over 20 years. This was so great to have had this experience with my daughter. I am so happy!

I never thought I would sled again because I can't tolerate the cold. But I just decided that when I was to cold I would leave. Oddly enough my BIL was the first one to say it's time to go. I thought for sure it would be me.

Peace
Tammy

I'm glad you had fun! I'm a skiier, (and have been since I was two years old). There's nothing like that feeling of you and the mountain...I compare it to flying. I always feel so free when the wind is blowing through my hair...it makes me forget about everything else.

Well done Tammy! You are braver than me, I would never get on a snowboard though it is something my younger children and grandchildren love.

Tammy,

Just doing something fun, and that can bring back a little bit of your childhood is so fun.... I'm glad that you had a good time.

I wouldn't get on a snowboard either......I am a chicken shit, and admit to it.

I just read this and I am so happy you were able to do this....kind of made me sad because I can't do anything physical right now and if I were to do something like this and fall the wrong way I could be paralyzed. Sorry.....just a downer issue for me I guess. Be thankful for your able body....I would give anything to be able to do physical activities again.....

Well done Tammy. Definitely lifts one's spirits to do activities with children and youngsters!

Jim.

I'v been skiier for years had no choice but loved it even have pictures of my kid sister
in my dad's back pack
still have his old willow skies
have to try snow boarding just for the fun with the kids

It seems like this could've been a success story. Good for you. It sounds like a lot of fun.

Take care, Morgan

How cool of you.

Since I am a hermit from Florida I can only guess what your experience was like. The closest I can get is water sking. Trust me, this ole gal would never survive that sport again.

I want what ever you are taking. Piano--snow boarding--what next.

OH OH OH ! ! ! I got one up on you(and I hate people who do this but I'm gonna do it anyway)

I actually did a sky dive! Only "1" but I did it. I jumped out of a perfectly good air plane. That, while tramatizing, was frightening and cool at the same time. I don't however recommend it

But anyway glad you are beginning to live and have some fun. Keep up the good work
